A Conversation with Delbert Tibbs & Cliff Kelley. The Public Square at the IHC, the Neighborhood Writing Alliance, and the Chicago Public Library West Englewood Branch present... Know More: Conversations That Matter.
Poetic Justice: A Conversation with Delbert Tibbs and Cliff Kelley. Join us for an exciting afternoon with local poet and exonerated death row prisoner Delbert Tibbs. Come hear Delbert read selected poems from his repertoire, which includes poetry that was inspired by his "wilderness experience"—including the unfortunate experience of being wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death row. His performance will be accompanied by readings by writers from the Neighborhood Writing Alliance's Workshop at St. Leonard's House, a transitional facility for ex-offenders, followed by a lively conversation with Delbert and noted talk show host Cliff Kelley. The event is from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Chicago Public Library West Englewood Branch, 1745 West 63rd Street in Chicago. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required and can be made online, by e-mail at events@prairie.org, or by calling 312.422.5580.
