At this critical time in the abolition movement, concerned c itizens throughout Illinois are joining together to work for more just and humane alternatives to the death penalty.

In the Decatur area, Macon County Citizens Opposing Capital Punishment recently held a forum featuring Rep. Coy Pugh, a leader in the struggle for a moratorium on executions in Illinois.

In the Bloomington-Normal area, the Bloomington-Normal Faith Committee for Abolition of the Death Penalty has been carying out education work with both local churches and legislators.

Please contact the Coalition office at 312-849-2289, or info@icadp.org for more information on how to get involved with these groups, or on how to form a group in your area. Together, we will end the death penalty!
