Coalition Director Jane Bohman Receives NAARPR Human Rights Award

Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty Executive Director Jane Bohman received a Human Rights Award from the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression at the organization's 30th Anniversary Awards Banquet on June 7, 2003.

Jane was honored for her outstanding contributions in the struggle for human rights for her work towards abolition of the death penalty.

Also honored were Rep. Art Turner, sponsor of House Bill 213, a bill to abolish the death penalty; exonerated death row inmates Delbert Tibbs and Aaron Patterson, and long-time activist Mary L. Johnson. NAARPR Co-founder Angela Davis was the evening's keynote speaker.
