ICADP honored with IVI-IPO Harold Washington Award

The Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty's Religious Organizing Committee received the 2003 Harold Washington Award by the Independent Voters of Illinois-Independent Precinct Organization (IVI-IPO) at an awards ceremony on July 13, 2003.

The award was bestowed for the Committee's work "for bringing together diverse people and groups, who may agree on no other issue, to work toward a common goal; for providing one voice for people of many faiths who believe that executions are not a moral or just response to violence; and for educating the public about the flaws and injustices in the capital punishment system."
