One More Way to Help ICADP
At our Annual Meeting on July 13th, ICADP talked about ways in which you can help repeal the death penalty, such as by donating to ICADP or hosting an event at your church. However, there is yet another way for you to help ICADP.
Each month, ICADP board member Barry Pearce organizes visits to death row inmates. Often times, these are the only visitors these men have each month.
In addition to visiting, ICADP donates legal pads, books, magazines, and pens with clear barrels to these men. We are looking for used or new books and magazines on these topics and interests in particular:
- Books and magazines that are hopeful and uplifting
- Books and magazines that are religious or about scripture
- Books and magazines that deal with science fiction and fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, suspense
- Books and magazines on sports, especially golf, hunting and fishing
- Any books by Patricia Cornwell, Amy Tan, Jeff Long, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, or Cormac McCarthy
- New books by popular authors
- Classics such as Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and such, especially if there are multiple works in one book
- Urban fiction books
- Magazines about the news, history, psychology, train hobbyists, or politics
- Recent editions of National Geographic, Maxim, GQ, Harpers, Atlantic
- Almanacs, a comprehensive dictionary, a legal dictionary, how-to writing books
- Crosswords, fill-ins, frameworks
If you would like to donate, please contact ICADP.
