Meet and Greet For Murder Victims' Families - Aug. 16th at Maggiano's

ICADP is joining Equal Justice USA, Murder Victims’ Families for Human Rights, and Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation in hosting a Meet and Greet for Murder Victims’ Families.

As ICADP works to abolish the death penalty, we will work to highlight the many ways in which the system fails to take care of murder victims’ family members. Diverting desperately needed resources is one of those failures.

We know the death penalty is expensive and that the resources we spend on our broken system could be better used for funding vital services to survivors of homicide. But this event is not about the death penalty. It’s an opportunity for murder victims’ family members and service providers to come together and share information about what service exist for family members and what’s lacking. We are happy to be able to provide a space for this important discussion to begin.

If you are a victims’ service provider or have lost a loved one to violence, you are invited to join us at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant on Clark and Grand Monday August 16th from 6-8pm. Please RSVP to Colleen at (314) 249-1159.

We are pleased that the event will feature long-time ICADP supporters and respected victims’ rights advocates and experts Jennifer and Bill Jenkins. The Jenkins’ will share information about what service exist for Illinois victims’ survivors.

If you are not a murder victim family member, but would like to learn more about the work that ICADP is doing to highlight the ways in which the death penalty can fail victims, please contact Colleen at colleenc@ejusa.org
